Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rage at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light

“Don’t you just hate nights like that, when you think over every mistake you’ve made, every hurt you’ve received, every bit of meanness you’ve dealt out? There’s no profit in it, no point to it, and you need sleep.”

“You forget all of it anyway… You forget who was cool and who was not, who was pretty, smart, athletic, and not… You forget all of them. Even the ones you said you loved, and even the ones you actually did.”

Gabrielle Zevin, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac

Sometimes things don’t turn out they way you want them to. I’m slowly learning that maybe that’s okay. Some of my favorite memories are things that occurred unexpectedly. Some of my best friends are people I thought I’d have nothing in common with. Sure it sometimes makes me sad to think that some people that I thought were going to be life long friends have turned out to just be temporary fixtures in my life, but I’m learning to move on. By moving on it doesn’t mean that I ignore the impact that the person had on my life, instead I live my life not trying to recreate something that is no longer there.
